You moved mom into a senior living community, so she can get the care she needs… but is she getting ALL the care she needs?
Whether independent living or assisted living… our senior living partners deliver exceptional service to their residents. There are times, however, when some residents may need a little extra attention – and that’s where we can help.
HCAN caregivers offer personal, one-on-one services that enhance a senior’s quality of life and help them live even more comfortably – whether that’s in a private residence or a senior living community. They can help fill in the gaps when it comes to:
Activities of Daily Living (ADL)
A little extra help with personal grooming, dressing, bathing, and mobility can help seniors continue to live independently.
Companionship
Our caregivers forge meaningful relationships with their clients by helping them with long-time hobbies, playing games, looking through old photos, sharing stories, going for walks, or just watching a favorite television show.
Transportation
If group transportation isn’t an option, our caregivers can drive seniors to medical appointments, the hairstylist, or even a lunch date with old friends.
Errand Service
No car… no problem. HCAN caregivers are happy to go to the grocery store, pick up prescriptions or drop off dry cleaning.
Light Housekeeping
While most communities provide regular cleaning services, we can help with the day-to-day tasks, such as making beds, loading/unloading the dishwasher, putting away groceries, emptying the trash, laundry, etc.
Meal Prep
Ensuring seniors have healthy meals and snacks is a priority for our caregivers – especially for seniors who only go to the main dining room once a day.
Medication Reminders
An older adult takes, on average, five medications a day – so, it can be hard to keep track of dates, times and doses. We can help seniors set up a schedule and remind them to take their pills.
Pet Care
Pets can help soothe a senior’s lonely heart and promote better physical health – reducing stress, lowering blood pressure and increasing physical activity. With the help of a caregiver, it’s possible for seniors to continue to care for their pets – no matter where they call home.
