What do we mean when we say we’re re-shaping the senior care funnel for senior living providers?
“We’re really bringing two worlds together – senior living and home care,” said Aaron McMartin, vice president of development at the HomeCare Advocacy Network (HCAN). “We’re helping senior living providers broaden their client base by creating a private duty home care business within their organization. Under their own brand. Being competitive off-campus – that’s re-shaping the funnel.”
By extending services off-campus, senior living providers are able to connect with families and potential residents early on in their senior care journey.
“Senior living providers already have a passion for service. They’re already in the business of helping people. They have a trusted, recognized name in the community,” he said. “We know families want choice, assistance, and relationship. With our resources, senior living providers can begin building important relationships before the senior moves on campus. Perhaps while they’re on a waiting list. This allows providers to be with families every step of the way. From just a few hours of home care through the final stages. That’s really extraordinary.”
So, why aren’t more senior living providers in the home care business?
“Many have tried, but they usually give up when it gets complicated,” McMartin said. “Yes, they know how to care for seniors, but it’s not that simple. When you’re sending a caregiver eight miles off-campus to work with a client, that’s inherently different than sending an employee down the hall to take care of a resident.
As a franchise partner, HCAN experts provide the training, structure, and system support. These are needed to establish and build a home care division that’s separate but complementary to the organization’s current service offerings.
“We have a proven home care model,” he said. “When senior living providers plug into the HCAN system, they don’t have to start from scratch. More importantly, they don’t have to learn the hard lessons. Lessons that often come with building a successful business – because we’ve already learned them.”
