Care Advocate Success Trainer Honored with the Hulda Osborn Award
Congratulations, Linda!
We’re very excited to announce that Linda Lundeen, our Care Advocate Success Trainer, has been honored with the Hulda Osborn Award – an award that recognizes those who have made outstanding contributions as a caregiver and/or helped support the home care industry. The award is presented annually by the Nebraska Association for Healthcare and Hospice (NAHH),
“No one is more deserving than Linda, and we’re absolutely thrilled for her,” said Mark Goetz, co-founder and president of the HomeCare Advocacy Network (HCAN). “She has devoted her life to caring for others – especially seniors. This award recognizes her years of hard work, compassion and commitment to the seniors she serves.”
Linda’s Journey
Linda began her journey in eldercare with a summer job at Woodward State Hospital in Woodward, Iowa – accepting the tough responsibility of helping to care for patients in various stages of advanced dementia. After high school, she became a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), and began working in hospitals – eventually taking time off to raise her family and care for her aging in-laws.
As the years went by, she realized she was called to eldercare – particularly in one-on-situations. So she began caring for seniors in private homes, senior living communities, rehabilitation units and hospice.
“For many years, I’ve been blessed to be the giver… but many more times to be the receiver,” Linda said. “My experience has helped me see families and loved ones without blinders or judgement.”
As HCAN’s Care Advocate Success Trainer, Linda trains and mentors our professional caregivers and assists HCAN franchise owners with care consulting and the development of additional training programs.
Along with our Operations Manager, Sierra Goetz, Linda developed HCAN’s Family and Friends Dementia Education class, and she is currently working with Amedisys Hospice to develop a dementia hospice training.
Servant to Others
“Her experience and passion for serving others is unmatched,” said Tim Martens, president of the HCAN franchise that serves Lincoln and Sarpy County. “With Linda’s guidance and continued support, our teams are armed with the information and resources we need to deliver exceptional care to the seniors we serve.”
