Shane and Janet Buer

Owners, HCAN Utah County

We believe everyone deserves to be treated with dignity and respect, which is why we feel fortunate to be working in an industry that allows us to give back to the community, build meaningful relationships and provide consistent, compassionate care to the families we serve.

Shane and Janet Buer

Owners, HCAN Utah County

The desire to work in an industry that has a meaningful impact on others is what led Shane and Janet Buer to the HomeCare Advocacy Network.

As owners of the HCAN office that serves Utah County, Shane and Janet will tap their personal and professional experience to provide exceptional care to seniors who wish to remain safely in their homes as they age.

Caregiving comes naturally to Janet. As a mother to seven children, she spent the past 25 years caring for her family, homeschooling, volunteering at church and helping in the community. Janet also has a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Central Oklahoma.

Also a graduate of the University of Central Oklahoma, Shane has a Bachelor of Arts degree with a Spanish major and Business minor. He also has a Master’s degree in Human Resources from West Virginia University. He has more than 20 years of human resources and operational experience in healthcare and nonprofit organizations. Prior to purchasing an HCAN franchise, he served as the Executive Director of a nonprofit organization that serves people with disabilities.

Amber Buer

Director, HCAN Utah County

Amber’s love for working with the senior population grew when she became a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) during high school and worked in the memory care unit of a skilled nursing community. As her passion for serving seniors grew, she enrolled at Brigham Young University where she received her degree in family studies and gerontology. Amber previously worked as the director of an HCAN-supported home care organization in Iowa – learning the ins and outs of the business, while delivering exceptional care for her clients.
