Bickford Senior Living

The team at Bickford Senior Living gets it. They understand that the senior care landscape is changing, and that, over the next 10 – 15 years, senior living is poised to become the largest provider of in-home services.

So, they partnered with HCAN, and they recently began rolling out in-home services to seniors and families through four of its branches –  St. Charles and Crystal Lake, Illinois, Cedar Rapids/Iowa City, and Davenport/Muscatine, Iowa.

“We’re excited to begin this venture with the HCAN team,” said Alan Fairbanks, executive vice president at Bickford Senior Living. “Home care will be a significant part of our organization’s future because it compliments what we already do so well.”

Alan has been with Bickford for more than 26 years. He has overseen operations at 65 communities in eleven states – ensuring the health and happiness of more than 3,000 residents. As his focus shifts to home care, Alan is committed to extending his team’s love and compassionate care beyond Bickford’s walls and into surrounding communities – helping seniors age safely in their homes.

All of us at HCAN are thrilled to work with Alan and introduce the experienced professionals who will be overseeing day-to-day operations in Bickford’s first home care locations.

Natalie Behnke

Natalie’s path to a senior care career began when she was a young child. She watched her parents care for her grandparents – an experience she could see was, at times, draining but very rewarding. While in high school, Natalie became a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and began working in an area senior living community. While there, she fell in love with the residents and enjoyed helping seniors live their best lives.

She’s happy to be a member of the Bickford community and looks forward to working with families in Eastern Iowa.

Colleen Lesher

Personal experience fuels Colleen’s passion for senior care. As her mother lovingly cared for her grandfather, who had Alzheimer’s disease, she witnessed the many rewards and challenges that come with caring for an aging loved one. She also became acutely aware that were few resources to help her mother and others navigate an Alzheimer’s journey.

Like everyone in the Bickford family, Colleen is committed to treating everyone like they are a loved one. She and her team will be providing compassionate care for residents and their families through the two locations in the Chicago area.
