Bickford Home Care Now Serves Families Living in the Chicago Suburbs
“For years, area families have trusted Bickford Senior Living to care for their aging loved ones in our communities,” said Colleen Lesher, divisional director at Bickford Senior Living. “We’ve now added an in-home care service offering – extending the same love and compassion we show our residents beyond our walls and into the homes of area seniors.”
Through the new home care division, Bickford’s trained, professional caregivers will provide companionship, personal care, Alzheimer’s and dementia care, and other services designed to help seniors age safely in their homes. Whether it’s for a few hours a week or around the clock, the Bickford Home Care team works closely with families to develop customized care plans to meet every clients’ needs.
“We know that most seniors want to remain in their homes as they age, but sometimes they need help to do that,” Lesher said. “Our goal is to help them live safely and independently for as long as possible while giving their families peace of mind.”
Bickford’s Home Care division is supported by the HomeCare Advocacy Network (HCAN). As a franchise partner, HCAN experts provide the structure, system support, and ongoing training needed to successfully deliver exceptional in-home care.
“With our business format franchising model, we help senior living providers, like Bickford, take advantage of the traditional home care model that’s proven to be very successful,” said Teresa Steinfatt, vice president of Business Performance at HCAN. “Our team provides the world-class training, structure, and system support needed to help providers, successfully add in-home services to their business, while utilizing their own brand.”
Initially, the franchise partnership includes:
- Business training
- Brand development guidance
- Marketing instruction
- Financial and human resources support
- Operational software
“Our team also provides ongoing, daily support to help senior living franchisees run their home care division,” Steinfatt said. “We will be on-site a minimum of three times the first year, two times the second, and one time the third to ensure continued success.”
Over the next 12 – 18 months, Lesher expects to add 100 new jobs and is actively recruiting qualified caregivers.
“Caregiving is more than a job, it’s a calling,” she said. “As we’ve learned over the past several months, caregivers provide an essential service, so I’m devoting a lot of time and energy into finding the right caregivers for the job.”
