Serving Those Who Have Served Us

There is no greater calling than to serve our country and we are honored to help care for those who did. As an approved home care provider under the VA’s Homemaker and Home Health Aide Program, we partner with the VA’s dedicated team of social workers and care coordinators to care for you, our veterans, in your home. Let’s start with the basics. First you have to be eligible under the VA criteria. See further down on how to apply.

Here’s How We Can Help

We are committed to helping you remain living in your own home and can serve veterans of any age. Our caregivers can be used as a part of an alternative to nursing home care, and to get respite care at home for you and your family caregiver.

Are You Eligible For Homemaker Home Health Aide Care?

All enrolled Veterans are eligible for Homemaker Home Health Aide Care IF they are eligible for community care and meet the clinical criteria for the service. A copay for Homemaker and Home Health Aide services may be charged based on your VA service-connected disability status.

What Services Can You Get?

Services are based on your assessed needs. Talk with a VA social worker to find out what specific help you may be able to receive.

Examples of daily activities you may be able to receive help with include:
  • Eating/cooking
  • Getting dressed
  • Personal grooming/light housework
  • Bathing
  • Using the bathroom
  • Moving from one place to another
  • Grocery Shopping
You can continue to receive our services for as long as you need help with your daily activities.

How Do You Decide If A Caregiver Is Right For You?

You can use a Veteran Decision Aid for Care at Home or in the Community to help you figure out what home care services or long term care services may best meet your needs.

There’s also a Caregiver Self-Assessment. It can help your family caregiver identify their own needs, how much support they can offer to you and where the gaps are. Having all this information, along with the involvement of your VA care team and social worker, will help you reach short-term and long-term care decisions.

You’re Eligible And Want The Service

If Homemaker or Home Health Aide services are right for you and you have chosen us, your VA social worker can help you make arrangements. These unsung heroes will ease the path to your care and liaise with us to ensure you get the care you deserve. You can contact them at the Omaha VA Clinic or the Bellevue VA Clinic.
